IAA NOTAMS Blocked? Read on...
That annoying advertising E-mail, commonly known as "spam"
has become a big problem for all of us. It has reached such proportions
that most E-mail services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put
at least one stringent blocking or filtering system in place, which all
of our E-mail must go through.
The problem is these blocking systems often stop E-mail which you want
to receive and read. In fact, you might find you are not receiving any
of our E-mail based services such as the IAA NOTAMS List, "Email
Me My Password" results, Forum posting notices, etc.
Here are things you can do to insure that you will receive this important
information coming.
A tip for everyone using any type of E-mail
software...
Add our IAA NOTAMS E-mail List address to your Contact List:
Step 1 - Open the program in which you use to read your E-mail.
Step 2 - Add "IAA NOTAMS" and its corresponding address
notams<at> flyidaho <dot> org to your E-mail address book to give you
a better chance at receiving it.
How
to Further Guarantee IAA E-mail Arrivals
These instructions are relevant to users of AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, or
other E-mail programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and
Netscape Mail.
AOL
If you are using AOL, you can ensure the delivery of IAA NOTAMS
E-mails by setting your "Mail Controls."
Step 1 - Go to option "Mail Controls."
Step 2 - Select the screen name we send your newsletters.
Step 3 - Click "Customize Mail Controls for this Screen Name."
Then you will need to check the version of your AOL software...
For AOL version 9.0
Step 4 - Open your latest IAA NOTAMS E-mail.
Step 5 - Click the Add Address button (over on the right) to add
the notams<at> flyidaho <dot> org to your "People I Know" list.
For AOL version 8.0
Step 4 - Select "Allow E-mail from all AOL members, E-mail
addresses and domains."
Step 5 - Click "Next" until the "Save" button
shows up at the bottom and then click "Save."
For AOL version 7.0
Step 4 - In the section for "Exclusion and Inclusion Parameters,"
Step 5 - Add and save these domains: "@airbase1.com"
and "<at> flyidaho <dot> org"
YAHOO
To ensure Skywagon E-mail delivery in your "Yahoo Inbox"
and not the "Bulk Mail" folder, you can instruct Yahoo to
filter it to your Inbox.
Step 1 - Open your Yahoo mailbox.
Step 2 - Click "Mail Options."
Step 3 - Click "Filters."
Step 4 - Next, click "Add Filter."
Step 5 - In the top row, labeled "From header," make
sure "contains" is selected in the pull-down menu.
Step 6 - Click in the text box next to the pull-down menu, then
enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent
IAA NOTAMS List E-mail: notams<at> flyidaho <dot> org.
Step 7 - At the bottom, where it says, "Move the message to,"
select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
Step 8 - Click the "Add Filter" button again.
HOTMAIL
If you are using Hotmail, you can ensure that IAA NOTAMS E-mails
are delivered to your Inbox by adding our "From" address
to your "Safe List".
Step 1 - Click the "Options" tab.
Step 2 - Select "Safe List." It is under the heading
"Mail Handling."
Step 3 - In the space provided, enter the address in the "From"
line of your most recent recent IAA NOTAMS E-mail: notams<at> flyidaho <dot> org.
Step 4 - Click "Add."
Step 5 - Then you will see the address you entered in the "Safe
List" box, click "OK."
OTHER PROGRAMS
Many popular e-mail programs, including Outlook, Outlook Express,
Eudora, and Netscape Mail, do not provide a convenient way for you
to mark easily whom you want to receive e-mail from.
If you are using this sort of E-mail system and you are not receiving
IAA NOTAMS E-mails, you can do something about it.
Step 1 - Contact the customer service people or the Postmaster
at the company that provides your e-mail or Internet connection
(your ISP).
Step 2 - Explain to them that all E-mails from owner-notams "at" flyidaho.org
and @flyidaho.org are e-mails that you asked for and want
to receive.
Step 3 - Ask them if they can white-list the newsletters that you
get from @airbase1.com or <at> flyidaho <dot> org. They will
probably ask you for some information about us.
Here is what to tell them:
Our Sending Addresses: owner-notams "at" flyidaho.org and forum.master "at" flyidaho.org
Our Domains: @airbase1.net and@flyidaho.org
Our IP Address (for both domains): 208.139.196.227 and 208.139.196.243
As always,
just let me know if you need further help!
